This sculpture is a minimalist installation that combines natural and industrial materials, reflecting the shape of an hourglass. On top of the structure sits a book titled "Deconstructing Time," symbolizing the artist's reconsideration of our current concept of time. The artist explores how time, as it is traditionally understood, lacks a queer or feminist perspective, emphasizing how the rigid framework of clock time distances us from our inner selves. The book on top of the sculpture serves as an invitation for viewers to deconstruct their own perception of time, encouraging them to move beyond conventional temporal frameworks and to explore a more personal, introspective relationship with time.
This is all a reference to the book Murillo is writing about time called
'Timeless Conversations - between Frida and Caribay'
